A Yogscast Adventure-Part 1

Lalna leaned up from his bed, Honeydew and Xephos’s beds were empty. He sighed, standing up. He opened his chest, pulling out his lab coat and goggles, pulling them on. The door slammed open, Lalna turned around to see the dwarf come in, “Oh, it’s you, what do you need?” Lalna asked calmly. Honeydew looked at him, “Oh, I didn’t realize you woke up,” the dwarf twiddled his thumbs, “I was just coming to grab my pickaxe, I guess it’s good that you’re up. I was planing to tell you later, but I can tell you now, What’s your opinion on Ridge?” Lalna looked at him in surprise, in his opinion the demigod was a great person, “Why do you ask?” The dwarf turned at the reply, “Lalna, I asked you.” An tinge of anger in his voice. Lalna leaned against the wall behind him, “In my opinion?” The dwarf nodded, “he’s a good guy, if I-” Honeydew interrupted him, “You obviously don’t know him then.” Lalna looked at him in curiosity, “What with the interest in Ridge all the sudden anyhow?” The dwarf walked over to Lalna, pinning him to the wall, “I heard you talking to Xeph!” Honeydew Screamed. Lalna thought back to that conversation.

Lalna walks around the Jaffa factory, seeming to be lost in thought. Xephos watched him, seeing his eyes wander off. He walked over to the scientist, putting his hand on his shoulder. The scientist jumped, turning quickly to look at Xephos. “Xephos, What the hell! Don’t sneak up on me!” Lalna screams, panting. “I-I’m sorry, Lalna. I was just going to ask if you we’re okay. You look like something’s wrong.” Xephos looked at him with sincerity in his eyes. Lalna looked down and mumbled, “I was thinking about leaving.” Lalna looked down. “Why would you leave Lalna, W-we need you!” Xephos made Lalna’s eyes meet his. “Why did you leave, Xeph?” Lalna asked, pushing him off. Xephos gasped thinking about that day, he’d been beaten, he left for Sipco leaving Lalna with Honeydew. “Lalna, where would you go?” Xephos asked. Lalna looked up at him, “Well I can’t go to Rythian, I sure as hell am not going to Sipco,” Lalna looked in the direction of Ridge’s tower, “I was thinking about going with Ridge...” Xephos grabbed his shoulders and shook him, “Are you mad?!?” Lalna looked at him and smiled, “Xeph, we both know the answer to that.” Xephos looked at his smile, “Are you sure about this?” Lalna grabbed his shoulder and nodded, Xephos hugged him, seeing Honeydew watching, anger visible on his face.

Lalna looked at Honeydew, still pinned to the wall. “Honeydew please, just let me go.” Lalna pleaded. “Why should I? Hm? Tell me Lalna!” Honeydew screamed. Lalna cowered, tears welling in his eyes. “Oh scared now are we, scientist?” Honeydew said as if mocking Lalna.  Honeydew grabbed Lalna by his lab coat collar, picking him up off the ground. Lalna coughs, choking as the collar constricts his neck, “Honeydew...l-let me g-go” The dwarf let the scientist go, he fell to the ground with a thud, he curled up coughing. He pulled out his stick, and hit Lalna’s back, a small yelp emits from the scientist, “Stop, please” Honeydew laughed at the fearful scientist, the dwarf hit Lalna several more times, welts forming where he had been hit. Honeydew laughed as the scientist layed there on the floor. “Are you going to leave Lalna?” Honeydew said as if daring him. Lalna shook his head, the rest of his body burning. Honeydew looked at him, “Good.” The dwarf walked out the door, leaving the scientist on the floor.

Lalna slowly stood while coughing, leaning on the wall. “This is why I’m leaving.” He whispered. He waited for the dwarf to enter the factory, he regained his strength and headed for the door. Xephos opened the door right as Lalna reached it. “Lalna! There you are, where’ve you been?” Xephos looked at Lalna. “I’ve been here, what’s wrong?” Lalna asked as he passed Xephos walking out the door, Xephos following him. “Lalna, I’m worried, Honeydew came in and started beating things, I tried asking him what was wrong and he just yelled at me to ask you over and over,” By this time they both we’re standing at the exit of the Jaffa factory. Xephos looked around. “I’m sorry Xephos, I just-” Lalna was interrupted by Xephos, “Lalna, what did he do to you?” Lalna shook his head, hugging Xephos, he turned, “Lalna!” It was too late,  Lalna had already flown in the direction of Ridge’s tower.

Lalna had been flying for days, he has finally gotten sight of Ridge’s tower. Lalna was slowly descending, losing energy. Suddenly Lalna fell, hitting the ground with a loud thud. “S-Shit...” Lalna screamed, laying on the ground, pain rushing through his body. Little did he know, the wounds that had welled up from Honeydew’s beatings had become infected, giving his frail body blood poisoning. Lalna could barely hold his eyes open, “R-Ridge, h-help...” Lalna called out silently, as his eyes slowly closed Lalna saw someone land right in front of him, and he swore he could see Ridge’s coat as his eyes closed.

“L-Lalna?” Ridge called out, Lalna’s eyes faintly opened, seeing Ridge looking over him. “Ridge, w-where are we?” Lalna asked, Ridge put his hand on Lalna’s head, “You’re burning up, Lalna.” Ridge leaned over and grabbed a needle. Lalna saw the needle and showed fear in his eyes. “Lalna, it’s fine, it’s just something to bring your fever down.” Ridge said, trying to calm the scientist down. Ridge leaned over and injected the formula, Lalna clinched his fist as the needle exited his arm. Ridge set the needle on the table by the bed. Lalna leaned his head back sighing. Ridge looked at the scientist, curiosity in his eyes. Lalna noticed Ridges look, “What’s wrong?”  Ridge looked at him, “Oh! Sorry, I was just thinking about things...” Ridge said softly. Lalna leaned up slightly, “What were you thinking about?” Ridge looked at him, the scientists eyes almost glowing, “I was wondering why, of all the possible people you came to me, I was also curious on what caused all those welts.” Lalna looked him, his eyes showing more age than his face, “I came to you because I though you were intriguing. Everyone said you we’re evil and that it would be a mistake to run from Honeydew Inc. to come to you.”  Lalna looked down, he didn't realize until now he didn't have his lab coat or shirt, there were welts all over his chest and back. “They're in the closet, I took the liberty to clean them for you, your shirt was quite bloody.” Lalna looked at him, “So, you want to know where these welts came from,” Ridge nodded, “while at Honeydew Inc. I worked under Honeydew’s orders, That also meant that if I made a mistake or said anything against him he would fully lash out on me, it was just a normal stick but overtime it splintered and hurt worse.” Ridge looked at him terrified, “W-why would he do that, what did you do for him to lash out so bad you bled!” Lalna shrugged. Ridge wanted to hug the scientist but he was afraid of hurting Lalna worse than he already had been.
